Picked up the hoist at 10:00am
Had the transmission out by 11:30
Swapped off the tires and rims about noon
Engine was out by 2:00
Had the garage cleaned up and the car stashed away by 4:00.
By 5:00 I was ready to go home. All in all, a good day.
With the intake off I can see where the lobe went to hell.... Nothing big drained out of the pan. Oil does look like metal flake paint though. I might change the clutch set-up too. My Centerforce pressure plate is burnt in a few spots. The flywheel has a few minor spots too. So far, I foresee cam & lifters, clutch, block boiled w/ new cam bearings, new crank & rod bearings, gaskets. If the cylinder bores look good the pistons will get disassembled and cleaned. Should I stay with the rings I have? If the walls are good, I can't see replacing the rings. Naturally I'll mark everything so it re-assembles as it came apart.
And so it goes..... Damn Car !
