Fresh 360 will not runn

Go back to the basics. It only takes 3 components for an internal combustion engine to run - fuel, air, and spark. If these 3 are delivered in the proper quantities, and at the proper time, it WILL run. :)
Check the carb to ensure you're getting a sufficient ammount of gas for the engine to fire, and not enough to flood it.
Pull the # 1 spark plug and with the plug wire attached, hold it close to a ground and crank the engine over while checking for a nice fat spark.
Since # 1 plug is already removed, hold your finger over the hole, while tapping the engine over, until you get compression on you finger, then just turn it by hand until the marks line up on your timing tab. Now you're on TDC of the compression stroke. You can advance the distributor a few degrees to ensure you have enough advance to fire the engine.
Pop off the distributor cap and ensure your rotor is pointing at the # 1 spark plug wire. If not, pull it out and turn it 180* and re-install it.

If you find any problems with any of the steps above, then you have to troubleshoot that particular sub-system until you have the 3 required criteria in the proper ammounts and at the proper time - fuel, air, and spark.
Good luck.

they are compression, fuel (ok, air/fuel mix), and spark. If you were told you need adjustables, and arent running them, you have several issues. You may be olding all the valves open 100% of the time. And you may have destroyed the only chance you had to have the cam break in safely by turning it and having the lifters under the spring tension 100% of the time. Is there a reason you ignored the shops' warning?
