Thing I hate most about my/all A-bodies

-
I can deal with most of the issues but one thing that always bothers Me is the wide front track/narrow rear axle .Always looks backwards to me .Ever since someone pointed it out to Me it's the first thing I see when I look at an A body.

I guess I'm lucky. So far, everything I didn't like about my car, I was able to change to something I did like. Being able to register it without taking out a mortgage would be nice though....Anyone check their DMV fees this year as compared to last year? I forget.....why do we need to register our cars every year? Did they forget who owns it?
couldnt agree more.. i need a few shots of whiskey before i deal with the dmv

I love this

Parts made out of unobtanium.

EPIC!

Cuda---
the fact Ive had it for nearly 12 years and its nowhere close to being done
gas/filler neck spillage
the fact that nobody makes a repop Vynyl top for it
the fact that the garage that its in is heaped with everyone elses crap
the fact that the parts I do have I cant install due to above garage situation
leaky PS pump
the lack of LH formula S compatable lugnuts
the lack of a correct HP y-pipe repop

Valiant---
leaky wiper pivot seals and/or windshield
the rust on the drivers floors due to above mentioned leak
lack of decent power (soon to be remidied)
timing chain slack
transmission morning sickness
rusty/partily detatched tailgate
lackluster handling
the fact I bought it more than 2 years ago and have only put 500 miles on it
seemingly un-curable stumble
wind noise
HEMORAGING PS pump
the fact I have 90% of the parts to make a nice street/strip car but Ive been putting all my time/effort into the Dart and the other 10% it is made of unobtanium
lack of a proper place to work on it....a pasture just isint doing it for me

Dart---
the fact Ive had it for 3-years and it was replaced 2-years ago
cant seem to sell it
the fact it was a basket case when I got it
the tail light lens made of unobtanium
leaky wiper pivot seals and the rust from it
the fact Ive had it for 3-years and have never driven it.
Id really like to keep it but space is limited

the list goes on

People saying-Thats not the original air cleaner wing nut,and only 70and up had 440's
And the proper response to this type of nit picking is "GO GET YOUR OWN FREAKING MOPAR!!!" Shuts em up every time...Unless they happen to reply and say "I do have one!" The proper retort for that would then be "Well, that is MOST unfortunate... because jerks like you don't deserve the honor..."

The fact that I'm bigger than my Scamp "Is that a Dart?" and I'm 6' and weigh 230!!!!! plus everything everyone else has said! :)

The worst part about my Dart is I work out of country, and I am not home driving it!

The worst part about my Dart is I work out of country, and I am not home driving it!

didn`t read all of these posts. wonder what these cars would be like if they had computer engineering back then?:glasses7:

I hate being wadded up into the windshield when the wife is driving. (bench seat and she like being close to the steering wheel) My 70 340 clone

I hate the fire wall pinch weld that leaks water when wet. (not rusty or bad pivot seals)

I hate the tin can construction of my 65 hence the 12 point cage over the 6 point roll bar

I hate that nobody makes decent headers for my 65 dart, or bigblock headers.

I hate the fact MY 65 Dart seat will be mounted to only fit my wife.

I hate removing and installing the top 2 trans to block bolts. I can barely fit my meat hooks in there

Hated the front discs on my '70 Dart.( I forget-Kelsey Hayes?)
Changed to later model type w/4.5" lug pattern.

Hate the fact that I can't drive it and don't have the money to do much at a time to it...

Taking out the bolt that connects the bell housing to the block that is above the starter. That bolt SUCKS. Maybe it's only like that on 73 swingers.

All headers leak unless you spend big money on a set.

My truck NEVER closes on the first slam.

I don't know if I "hate" anything. Some things are a little more awkward to get to and there's a few inconveniences, but "hate"? No. This is what I do for enjoyment.

Stupid people...

The totally clueless-

"Nice Nova!"

"Is that the Starsky and Hutch Car?"

MoPar know-it-alls -

"Why did you paint your engine compartment black?" (factory black car, exterior repainted red by PO)

"Where's your fender tag?"

"You got the wrong carb on there!"

The Car....only that I know every little dent, ding, mismatched bolt and speck of rust, so when people say "NICE CAR!" I can only shrug and say "Well, it's a 20 footer but it runs good."

Just can't afford 15k in bodywork and paint...but oh well, then I'd probably be afraid to drive it anyway!

I love everything about my Dart, What I do hate is coming out of a store and telling some *** to get his or hers greasy hands off it.

Man, you guys don't like your cars much ! I like everything, most of the things I'm reading here I think is what makes our cars unique. Sbp is fine with me, then again I'm a fan of the rallye wheel. LH/RH lugs, that's cool as hell as long as you don't forget when removing wheels! Electrical gremlins? What 40+yr old car doesn't? Seat position, who cares! I drive my car for several hundred miles and smile the whole time! I will admit, filling up the gas tank does suck, if I don't stop in time it will burp out quick! Best of all, my wife and kids love riding in the car no matter how far or long!

I hate my dart for tearing my rotator cup.i keep it around to ocassionaly drive which makes me appreciate my 13 rt challenger 6 speed.

Most of the things people are bitching about in this thread are the exact things that I love about these cars. Their little quirks and oddities are what make them just a little more human than the Ford and GM equivalents.
