The worse part about building a car is picking a color and I need help LOL.

I need to spray the engine bay of the Scamp and the factory just isn't going to cut it. Its not a bad color but its darker then I like. The problem is the interior is gold and I would like to keep it. I also want something that is a stock color., it doesn't need to be for a 71 model but I don't want it to look out of place. I also don't want a high impact color.

For 71 colors I like Y4 and W1

For 70 colors I like B3, B5, Y2 and Y3

for 69 colors I like F3

Are you keeping the vinyl top? With gold interior you are limited, where are the women when you need them? How about K-6 autumn bronze?

B3 or F3.. the B5 is too common for me, but the slightly lighter B3 will look very smooth with a gold interior, and the F3 is just plain different, a lighter green with gold interior with look very nice. My call, B3.. if not B3, F3 all the way. Good luck to you :pirat:

I know you said no hi-impact colours but I'd go with Bahama Yellow from 1969. It's listed as a hi-impact but really isn't that bold and would nicely set off a tan/gold interior.

I say paint it black, nothing looks meaner than a black car!

I like the B3 better then B5 actually. I actually think F3 is my first choice.

I love that color on 6 pack super bees. Im not sure it would look right on the Scamp

With the gold interior I would not go with blue or green shades. I think the yellows would look okay...... Personally I would go with White or Tan. A clean white car looks great and gold interior would compliment it. Add gold pin-striping and the car would look awesome. If white is out my next choice would be T3 Bahama Tan or TG Burnt Tan. WHITE with gold striping ...... My 2-cents. I know a lot of people don't like white but on certain cars it fits. I think the Scamp is one of them.

I like the original color but I`m with 19duster74 on the repaint, stay away from blues and greens unless it`s just the right green, and go with (white of course) or something in the yellow, tan, gold, brown, family. That would compliment the interior rather than clash with it. How about a good picture of the upholstery with the paint chips on top? What`s your wifes choice?

plum crazy is always a badass color for a duster.....well anything for that matter! of course if you go that route then youd have to change the interior, id go with plain ole white with a 340 stripe and 340 scoop

Adam I did my 71 Scamp F3. I thought that color said old people's car, and since I had the 383 in it, I was thinking more SLEEPER! My car did already have a green interior, so it looked good, for green on green. I had 15 steel rims with hub caps from a fury. It caught a lot of people by surprise.

My 75 Dart Sport was KY4 "Golden Fawn" with the tan/gold interior. It was a nice combo IMHO. :)

Can't argue with that kinda wisdom!:)

Is Bahama yellow the same as Butterscotch?

Kev, yes its the same as Butterscotch.

Heres an interior picture. Its actually more tan then gold.

I dont think the B3 or the F3 look bad with the Tan/gold interior.

Well Im going to try again to match the factory color. If that fails it will go F3 green. Im trying to keep the grandma image with it. Although I may add a 72 Demon scoop at some point which will kinda kill that.

I say go with the F3 Adam. Before I put my motor in i was thinking of going with that color myself, well close to it. Looking good.
