beaters what options do us mopar lovers have?

I kept my 1996 Plymouth Voyager 2.4L minivan because it has little resale value (~$1K Blue Book) and is fairly simple and reliable (for a newer car). If you can find one <$1000 it might be a good daily driver. It gets ~25 mpg hwy. With the seats out, 4x8 plywood sits flat though you must tie the door down (not for Grand models). It offers much of the utility of a pickup, plus the load is protected and it loads low. It is better for tasks like moving furniture than a pickup. I even moved a piano with it. Some claim the 4 cyl is under-powered, but mine accelerates well. One son uses it mostly now. Perhaps the biggest drawback for many are memories of the SUV ads that ridicule a man driving a minivan. That only bothers "girly-men", as our ex-Gov would say.
