1967 Barracuda Fastback- Project: "Not as Nice as Tony Fields'"
Further investigation into this car has revealed some cool options and information. This was a pretty well optioned car when new. It was ordered originally as a 273cid Commando car with a 904 trans and 8-3/4" rear with a 3.23:1 gear ratio open diff, power steering, power disk brakes, and air conditioning. It was originally gold with black interior. It now has a 1975 360 in it with what appear to be factory heads, an edelbrock manifold, and a carburetor that may end up being changed out anyway.
I was told when I bought the car that it had a 727 TF with an 8-3/4" rear and 3.55:1 gear set. It's actually still the 904 with the 8-3/4" 3.23:1 open diff. The 904 was slipping badly when I got it, so a new one with upgraded internals and converter is in the works as well. I'm starting to get really excited about this car, and I can't wait for cruising weather.
