hey, thats way cool.... i have a roadrunner with flags and pistons on my arm,

Thanks man. Your tat sounds cool also. I was thinking about flags or on a stars and bars flag (like a confederate jolly roger), but it would've gotten too busy. Got a pic of yours?

Looks good.....going back for more? If so, what are your plans? I wish I was bare skinned so I could go thru it all again. This may sound kind of goofy, but getting inked was a sort of therapy for me.......I am hoping that during my next trip to AZ I can go ses my tattoo guy. I had a bit of skin cancer frozen off and of course it was under part of one of my tattoos....

Ink,
I've wondered how to check for skin cancer under tattoos. I'm a very fair skinned person and have a fair amount of freckles and small moles from sun damage, a lot of which is hidden underneath black and gray tattoos. So it would be hard to notice any moles changing colors or shape really. How did you notice yours?

Cheers,
Drake

Of course it was under one of your tats. Where else would it be? Honestly hope that worked out well for you. And now it gives you an excuse to get under a needle again.

Wiley is actually my fourth tat. I have had the idea for years but never quite had a complete idea. My gal found a guy that did awesome work on her, so I threw some pics together and ran it by him. His basic art was cool, but the finished job just blew me away. My only other tat planned is my 101st patch on my other shoulder. Maybe a styleized version of Old Abe on a black sheild with an Airborne rocker. Don't know, might take a while to think it through.

I am fair skinned too. Just keep an eye on any thing that you suspect might be a problem. My little bit of cancer was not a mole or nothing, it appeared as a scab, that just never fell off. I need to go back to the dermo and have it looked at, as it no longer scabs, it is just a different texture. Being that you are fair skinned you really should be covered up when going out in the sun. While sunscreen works, it did nothing to stop any of my ink from fading. The first piece that was done was a red Reaper from an OZZY concert shirt. I used to ride a motorcycle to work everyday with a sleeveless shirt. I was getting that thing redone every other year. I have a dozen or so long sleeve shirts that I wear when I go outside. Keep in mind that you can be allergic to some of the inks. I have some brown trees on my one arm and the first time he went to shade them in the next morning was hell. Where ever he put brown was just sort of festering. Switched brands and the problem did not return.

Are you planning on getting sleeved? If so, you might have a bit of a hard time designing the rest of a sleeve around the roadrunner. I used to work with a guy that was sleeved, and there was no theme to them. To me, it was just sort of goofy looking. It is cool that you found a good artist. So many of them are hacks. The guy that did all mine is the owner of his shop. I was amazed at how many people that would come thru the door asking for a job, but did not have any human canvas experience. Some of these people could really draw, but were absolutely horrible with a tattoo gun.

Here is the one we just finished on my shoulder right before New years. I designed it and my artist added his touch to it. It is also a cover up of some 1995 tribal crap I had.

The cover up is in here...

Next up is this pic of my Grandpa that is going on the back of my leg. But first Nikki is designing her shoulder piece.

Geez, JR, what the hell took you so long? I thought I was gonna have to hang bacon on this thread. That is one wicked bad tat. The color is outstanding.

The guy who did these owns his own shop and it's a one man operation. He also did my gals shoulder and back. I really don't have plans of going with a full sleeve. I do have something in the back of my adled brain for the other shoulder incorporating my old airborne patch. I need to pay some bills and get some more car parts, so it's a bit in the future.
