need help with installing electronic ignition

If you are using an msd box and the electronic conversion for a 70's or newer system, I believe you don't need the ballast. I had one in the loop for a while but my car stopped starting. Ended up that I didn't need the ballast. This is what I found out from another site. If you can get it to start with a ballast, it is just a matter of time before it will not work. At least that is how it worked for me. I had changed out the ballast a couple of times before just connecting both sides of it together. After they were connected, it fired right up with no problem and is still working great.
