PowerPipe Exhaust for slant/6

Been running Clifford shorties,1 1/2 headers on my race car with the Clifford intake.Am going to try the Aussiespeed intake and want to also try 1 5/8 headers.I cant just bolt a set of any 1 5/8 headers on it because I have modified the car with a rear steer toyota rack.Wondering what the primary length should be for a pure race car,I shift at 6,000 rpm.Have been 11.50 at 115mph and I want more.Would bee very interested in some Hooker headers, cond not important cause I will bee cutting them up to fit my car, dented, rusty, ugly a plus.Guzzi Mark

Hello Mark, The primary tube at 41" length good up to 7000RPM The 31" length good to 5000RPM the length of primary tubes for your RPM I feel should be at least 36"
As far as the size, the calc I use shows that 16ga or 18ga for weight savings, is calling for 1.90" or 1.92" for all out race I would go to 2" primary tubes. The set I’m doing now is 1 3/4" with my style bender these will be very close to the 1 5/8" your talking about. This is an open header calculation. If you are bringing the pulses back together this changes a little bit. JMO Don :thumleft:
