Is The Demon Next To Be Re-done By Chrysler?

-
Umm...yuck..it's Fugly, and it's definately NOT a Demon. If they are going to call anything a Demon, it should be a two door version of the just released Avenger.

...and what's wrong with the current Charger? The current SRT-8 is the best performing Charger of all time...even if it has 4 doors...and it's the best performance value available in a 4 door fullsize vehicle.

it dont look to bad its just not what the demon needs to be i mean it looks like a import when i hear demon i want to see somthing that stands out and backs the name up the "copperhead" doesnt do that anybody seen the new mustang concept same thing these new cars dont look american if you know what i mean its all about the foreign styles

Maybe Im old school but if your going to bring back a car it better have a similar appearance to the old design-after all isnt it supposed to be nostalgic?.Chrysler pissed me off when they called a truck a rumble bee and made a sport family car out of the charger and the daytona-jeesh.Not too mention the weak *** performance of these vehicles considering theyre touted as having hemis. Also how many people here had to deal with people on cruise nights thinking theyre cool in their neon platformed p.t. cruiser lol.If you ask me ford finally got it right with the mustang and to compete chrysler came up with the challenger-so in imo thank ford for finally forcing them to bring something back the right way and lets hope the rest follow.O.K Im done.

now i loved the dodge razor, and copperhead concepts this one does look like an s2000 was rearended by a 350z into the front end of a magnum and say said eh leave it. I dont know I like the 300c, magnum, srt4 which is in caliber form now, the nitro and the ram. I dont see any bubbly cars at all that you speak of except maybe the late 90s early 2000 era cars.

All i know is i do plan on trying to get a new challenger when they are released and park it next to the demon and if they make a new demon i might get one of those just to have the old and the new

But I can say out of all the cars being produced today I am still loyal to dodge. All they are trying to do with this one is like you said compete in a field where they dont have a car built right now and thats the cheap roadster field. I dont think the car looks too bad its not nostalgiac and shouldnt be called demon but if it was with 300hp srt4 motor vs solstice, or saturn sky what would you buy if you were choosing btwn those 3

Man, that crosshair grille has got to go... it's long overstayed its welcome on Dodge cars.

As for the Demon name, if history has taught us anything, it's that in two years after the car's debut, it will be renamed Caliber Sport. :p

I'm glad to hear you say that! It IS getting old.

They should name that car the Dodge "Crossfire"........OOPS! That name, and body style is already taken...... :toothy7:

This might step on alot of guys toes but for those knocking Chrysler for once being all orginal and not stealing ideas lets not forget the 68-70 Dodge charger share the same coke bottle shape as the mid sixties GTO, the 70 cuda looks alot like the 1st gen camero, and the 70 challenger shares a few looks with the 68 mercury cougar. Each of the old big three has had its time to shine with original ideas and car designs. chrysler being number three back in the day and not having as much money as the other two didnt always take the lead with new car designs.
Also alot of people forget that the dodge charger wasnt just a 68-70 car. Look at the first gen charger, it was a fastback coronet, then the third gen charger. Yes a 2007 4 dour charger isnt nearly as cool as a 2 door 69 charger, but id take a guess and say those who completely say they hate the 4 door charger for being a 4 dour still wouldnt buy the new charger if it did came out as a 2 door.
Also, if ya waited all these years to "Not buy chrysler products anymore" ya should have jump ship back in the 80s when we had to live with mustangs and cameros eating the hell out of the 4 banger "duster" and "chargers" on the street. Lets not forget about the Dodge Daytona, nice lookin car, but not a mustang killer, and not a v8.
Its 2007, dodge isnt gonna look the same as it did in 1969. And if you truely want Chrysler corp to live on and not die off like other car brands, then at least look at them and see what theyve accomplished over the last 5 years. Dont like the 300 or magnum? well the rest of america loves em. So ya Dont like the caliber because it looks European? Well some european styling is liked over here in the USA and Dodge is trying to survive in a tough market. so they make a car they can sell all over the world, thats normal. If ya dont like dodge stealing design cues from other cars, stop loving 68-70 chargers because they look like GTOs and stop loving the cudas and the challengers because they look like cameros and cougars. Again, lets not forget that the A body darts and valiants were made to compete with compact imports.
The 60s mopars are classics to us, but 50s mopar fans might not like the boxy looking chargers and coronets of the 60s.
Do ya guys know that GM is predicted to be second to toyota at the end of 2007. Big GM #1 will be #2. Weres chrylser in all this, #3 still? no, more like #5. I just hope Chrysler survives, and they are with cars like the 300 and magnum and yes with the new HEMI.
So demon is totally the wrong name for this little roadster, but it still looks like it belongs right in there with all the other new roadsters. And i agree charger was a bad name for the new charger, i think they should have called it the Polara.
So this "demon" resembles another car, well GM totally stole the looks of the lastest viper for its new corvette, it happens. my hope is that dodge gets a version to use. With the ram on the hood my guess is that it will be a dodge. they also need to keep its price comparrible to solstice. 2 seat roadsters are getting more popular these days and im gland to see chrysler is making an effort to join the club. with gas prices the way the are, not everyone can afford to feed a hemi powered car.
If ya dont like Chrysler trying to survive in todays market then by all means jump ship, but im staying on board and supporting the pentastar. Besides if your not buying a chrysler product, what are ya buying?

Anything new is usually going to take a negative hit. Remember what the Superbird went thru? Bob Malcomb (Peebles, Ohio) had to go borrow money to pay off what I think was their one and only Superbird, and then they ended up having to keep it because it never did sell. I'm sure they are (now) happy that they did!

I live about 35 miles from Malcomb's dealership and have seen his damn near zero mile original survivor Superbird, and I bet that you're right and he's REALLY glad he borrowed the money to get it now. God only knows what it would bring if offered for sale. Hindsight always is 20/20.

If I was to pick a roadster it would be a Sky Redline, I am a huge roadster fan now. If the Dodge version had 300hp, and I had the money for that l would have to go with that.
