Its not that simple -- I (and many others) tried to do it your way and everyone got similar numbers -- Then (I) asked someone who actually measured a V10 viper motor (WITH) all of the front mount accessories and it is longer than the way you are trying to work out the dimension. Best way to get the dimension is a good old fashion tape ruler and a motor, which is what the person who gave me the dimensions did.
