My Official Slant Six Build

Are you going to have it bored? If you are NOT going to have it bored, or are going to run STOCK cast pistons, have your machine install the pistons backwards on the connecting rods. It is an old racer's trick that will unlock a little bit of horse power due to the piston pin's offset in the stock pistons. The pin is offset in a stock engine to reduce noise. By reversing the pistons, this allows a little bit of tension to be released and gives some relief of side loads on the pistons and cylinders thereby freeing up some power. This will cause a little bit of noise, much like that of a full floating piston pin, but will not hurt a thing. This does not apply to any performance piston as they will have no offset.
