Number matching questions

68 was the first year for partcial VIN stamping on the block and trans. Some 69 models had the complete VIN stamped on the engine and trans, and in 70 back to a partcial vin stamping. You are correct for 1967 about all you can go on is the casting dates and assembly date of the engine. It should have a assembly date stamped on the machined pad where it says C 383. No 100% way to say its matching numbers engine and trans because it had no number to tie it to that particular car. Just has to be in the correct range before the build date of the car , and I would guess that might be on your build sheet. Hope this helps you, and I would think it would be hard for them to know the value of this car if they don't know it was built.
