Speeding Ticket

I don't know the laws in your locality, but here in southern Ohio you can go to court and possibly beat a speeding ticket. The only catch is that even if you are found totally innocent you have to pay "court costs", which is only about $20.00 less than the ticket. So unless you're right up against the points ceiling on your driver's license, I wouldn't bother. It's not worth taking a day off work and all the aggrevation just to avoid paying $20.00 or so, which is the difference between the fine and the "court costs". That being said, I drive too damn fast on a constant basis, and have not had a speeding ticket since 1985. I don't know why, other than I'm constantly looking for the lurking cop and have been NICE to the officer the few times I actually got pulled over and they let me go with a warning.
