Intake Manifold Dilema

I tried a tap, but the top threads are pretty much gone, but the bottom threads are still there. I can not seem to get the tap to match the original threads. The tap wants to follow the crossed threads. Might you know what the threads and size tap that would be? I may try again and want to be sure I am using the right tap.
