Buying Parts from Canada
Umm Dan thats not entirely true. If you bring parts across the border yourself for shipping, you will pay a small fee $11 or so and it will be collected by the us border guards. This is called a commercial vehicle fee, charged to you because you are transporting something across the line I guess. Tax grab yes,but better than the brokerage fees ups and fedex rape folks for. I have been raped by both fedex and ups for broker fees and no longer use thier services. Mancini shipped me a book that cost me over $30 in shipping thanks to this little game that ups plays. The same book shipped by a private citizen would have cost about $7 in shipping.I usually include the $11 fee in my costs, but sometimes the deal is too tight and I pass it along to the customer.I have been told at the border by border guards (US) to sell my stuff in Canada,so Krazycuda isnt alone in his anti canadian sentiments. I didnt bother telling the guard I'd been trying to do that for 2 yrs already!
BUT; this is a huge one. The great depression of the 30's was greatly aided by this same sentiment. America closed it's borders in an attempt to force it's citizens to buy american. Very similar to what Obama almost did.
