Buying Parts from Canada

Ok guys. I realize that the duties work both ways. Canadians have been hit with them and Americans also.

Like I said on the end of the first page, from the POSITIVE feedback that we have received, we should all keep in mind to ship with the post office instead of FedEx/UPS as many of us have been charged high "duties" from these companies than using the regular post office.

I did not intend to start a Canada vs US bash thread. I'm sorry if my first post gave some of you the wrong idea, but I was frustrated and upset that I had spent so much on shipping just to get parts that I could have gotten from someone local and not had to deal with the hassle and expense of parts going across the border.

I PMed the seller and then learned that he intended on paying the duties in his original shipping cost. It was the lady at the FedEx that told me that he told them that I was to pay the duties. This was apparently a lie to get me to pay the duties. I obviously will not be using FedEx when ordering parts from Canada anymore.

So, let's take a positive lesson away from here and stop bashing each other as it is not going to get us anywhere. When dealing with shipping parts across the border, use the post office to avoid the extra "import fees" that FedEx and UPS have ripped some of us off on in the past.
