Just can't get throttle pressure rod adjusted...
Hey everyone:
I'm having a big problem getting my throttle pressure rod adjusted correctly. I've searched thoroughly and haven't really seen a solution.
My vehicle is a '71 Plymouth that I put together from several donor vehicles. Engine is a 1973 318 w/2280 Holley carb.
Trans is a '67 A904. I am using the throttle pressure linkage from a 1975 Plymouth Duster. Everything fits, but the throttle rod can't give enough "push" at the trans..meaning if the carb is at WOT, the trans arm isn't.
If I try to adjust it as the Chrysler manual suggests, loosening the slider at the trans and pushing it forward, the linkage will not let the carb go to WOT.
I did find a bar(at the carb) that's threaded and adjustable but that still isn't solving it.
So what's up here...gonna have to find an earlier model throttle pressure linkage or something?
Thanks guys.
