I didn't see one so here is the new Early Valiant Lancer thread, please post photos of your cars!
I just got mine but have wanted one for quite a while, thanks Mikey's Toy for giving me this one!

Hi, Scott! Don't worry, we're out here lurking. I just don't post too much because the other guys on this forum are too smart, and I don't want them to find out how dumb I am. Here's my car, a '62 Valiant V-200:
retroguybilly.main_dwezill.jpg

It has a built 360, a 727, an 8-3/4" positraction and 15" X 8" steel wheels, front discs, large drums in the rear and big sway bars front and rear.

My first early A-body was a 1960 hospital green Valiant Suburban with a 170 /6, and I've loved them ever since.

Good luck with your Lancer! Are you going to keep it stock, or go the "resto-rod" route? Please tell us your plans for the car.

Also, what's "Mikey's Toy"? Is that the salvage yard where you bought your car? Please tell me about it.

Thanks Bill, Mikey's Toy is the member here who gave me the car. I haven't fully decided what I want to do with the Lancer, I'm thinking for now to put a 225 back in it and make it a daily driver. I was told that at one point it was a Hyper-Pak car I may go that way.
your Valiant is beautiful! thanks for posting your photos!

Here's my '62 Lancer — aluminum 225 (2-barrel, MP cam, and various other upgrades)
Automatic, A/C, 4-piston disc brakes,
front and rear lighting upgrades that actually work safely and effectively,
(and no, those flowers were just there as a joke after a thorough interior detailing job):

Not too many of these around, I guess. I have wanted one for a long time, too. My cousin had one with a hopped up slant, had a cam and two 1 barrel carbs. I thought that car was pertty cool! They are so ugly they are cute, inho.

63val: cool car!

Is your sedan a 1960 model? I think it is from the "dimpled dog dish" hub caps, which I think were used only in 1960, if I'm not mistaken.

If you hear of any '60-'62 Valiant or Lancer bodies for sale, would you let me know? I've got a rebuilt 225 /6 and a 904 tranny to install in one.

I had this one when I joined here.....sold it to a guy in Canada who has since put a big block and a tube chassis under it. I see in the fourth pic, there's a 55 Dodge in the background, any chance of getting some parts?? Look at my avatar and you'll see why I ask.

Thank Bill! Yes, it's a '60. I'll keep my eyes open, but I don't run across these very often. I'd been wanting a road toad for many years, but never ran across the right deal in my sphere of travel. Finally this one showed up about a hundred miles from my earlier this year and I jumped on it. Good a good price too. :-D

Those caps were used '60-'62, though larger full wheel covers were available as well. The exterior trim on 63Val's car identifies it as a medium-early-production '60 V200. Not early enough to have the inner trim ring on the "spare tire" trunk lid, not early enough to have the stainless trim around the windshield and backglass, but early enough to have the "shark fin" atop each front fender.

Dan, your esoteric collection of knowledge never ceases to amaze me... :)

I just bought a matching numbers 4dr 1962 Plymouth Valiant, all original but nowhere near perfect, for $1250, it was still running when i bought it with the original engine Having 456,556 miles on it before the odometer broke around 1995. Im the second owner, and at age 17 im putting every penny i have into it. Im still looking for the trim on the car though, mainly the grille and the VALIANT lip, any help on finding these parts would be greatly appreciated,

In the image, if you look closely, you might see a ford trying to obstruct my Valiant's picture =)

Here is my latest project. 62 170 Wagon from East Texas. Some light surface rust, floor boards are near perfect. Going to run my 225 Hyper Pak and push button trans. Changing to the 61 grill as the shaver does not trip my trigger.
