Well my dad had a D150 shortbed that he put a 383 and 727 into.

As mentioned this truck is a shortbed D150 that is that rust brown flat primer paint color. It was formerly a slant 6 and I believe a 4 speed truck. My dad found a 383 and 727 combo out of an old Newport I believe and had a friend make the mounts and drop the engine in. Dad did just a quick rebuild making sure the valves had good seals and a basic tune up and after the engine was in it fired right up.

The truck also has dual exhaust and I'd love to have the truck to make it a tow vehicle for my Barracuda.

If anyone in the Nortwest Ohio area knows of a truck like this please let me know if the owner is interested in selling.

I have a pretty stock 1978 factory J-code (400ci) D150, 727, 9.25.

It is a LWB Standard Cab.

It runs like a champ. I drive it all the time. It could handle the drive home for you from here in 88101...good tires, windshield, lights ect.

I am not in a position to where I have to sell this, but
How much are you willing to offer to contribute to my Duster project?

Sweet truck man. I don't know how much we, dad and I, could offer. We are looking for a truck to buy together. Him to haul mulch and use whenever my sisters vehicle breaks down. Me just to use as a tow vehicle for my 69 Barracuda.

well....I am not going to give it away....but if you interested in knowing where I am on the price....I would have to have around $2500 cash for it.

It has:

New Plugs and Dist. Cap
New Spark Plug Wires
New Fuel Pump and Filter
New Radiator and hoses
New Optima Redtop Battery
New Remanufactured starter
New reman'd alternator
New ECU
New Voltage Reg.
New Front/Rear Brakes

New, meaning less than 5000 miles ...I just did the brakes two weekends ago.

I have the clear title for it.

It has a Edelbrock 600 carb with electric choke.
Transmission Shifts good...will chirp 2nd at 55mph.

Gas Gauge quit working last year.....I just bought a $115.00 fuel level sender for it....need to install it.

Cranks, runs, stops good....all the lights work and its a beast.....kinda fun old truck to beat around in.

Let me know if you want to make me a fair offer....hint hint...I will accept LESS than $2500 but not much less.

I tell my dad about it. It's a decent price and don't have to worry about rust where your from.

Would the truck happen to have sure grip?

I know my dad's truck was a beast with that 383 be cool to have your truck. Problem is the distance I don't know when we'd have time to get it.
