I bought a Grand Cherokee today. I came without a radio:sad1:. I want to install an aftermarket radio but I was told by the guy who owned the store that I must rewire the system if I have the Infinity system and I do. Is this true, the last owner had one it it! I know its not old but its a mopar, thanks for input.

Your radio guy is correct. You will have to run speaker wire from your head unit to the speakers. You can probably intercept them where they connect to the Infinity amp if you do not want to run completely new wires. Somewhere I have the pin outs for the Jeep Infinity amp. I will see if I can trackit down for you if you would like.

So basically I have to take the amp out of the equation? What are pin outs, I suck at electronics?

hey, i just pulled a nice infinity radio out of a 99 jeep, and have no use for, cause i already have one in outr jeep. i am sure it is a direct bolt-in ordeal
mine has the grey, black plug-ins, and a seperate white plug in if you have the controls on the wheel, but can still use if you do not.
it is am/fm/cassette/cd
60.00 to you

I did this a few times in other Mopars (LH cars) w/ Infnity sound systems. Had a wiring adapter kit from Crutchfield, had to connect one of the leads (antenna or amp??) from the radio harness to the amp power lead in the factory side. Sorry I can't remember the exact details, but it's been LOTSA years since I've done that!

You can wire the deck into the wiring harness, it will still utilize the OEM infinity amp and wires...just did it to my '94 ZJ limited. Did Kenwood head unit with infinity referance door speakers and disconected the tweeters on the dash. You can either do pig tail from a company like crutchfield, which will plug right into the harness or just pull up a wiring diagram and splice the pigtail that comes with the head unit into the harness after removing connector. It was cake.

I got the radio and harness today hooked it all up as the instructions said and it worked. Thanks guys.
