USNR active duty 9-64 to 8-66.
Served abd the USS O'BANNON DD 450. (most decorated destroyer in WW2)
Made two tours of Viet Nam in the Gulf of Tonkin.
Homeported in Pearl Harbor Hawaii.
Yokosuka,Japan,Hong Kong,Subic Bay (Olongapo), Kaioshung Taiwan,Guam,Midway.
Was on way down under in nov 64 when we turned around and went directly to the Gulf to support the carriers and also some "Desoto patrol" up near NVn.
I was a SM3.
