I have a very nice '70 V8 box (roller bearings instead of plain bushings). Send me a PM if you're interested. It's standard ratio, like most of them -- the "close ratio" you mention is actually called a fast or quick ratio, and was a seldom-ordered '65-'69 option that makes the car a PITA to drive (park) on the street.
