x-pipe and exit in front of rear tires?

I used to have this setup on my old 70 RR, all the years I had it. When I got it it had Cyclone (?) steel packs on it and was just THUNDEROUSLY loud. While it sounded good, and was NOT that objectionable in the car, I was a little more than worried about the Blue Meanies. One day some kid yanked a set of stockers off a brand new Superbee and threw 'em in the dumpster. I was right behind 'im and that very afternoon had the big Chrysler mufflers on the car.

Unfortunately I have no pictures of this setup.

One thing that is VERY nice about this -specially compared to a stock B body with the factory stuff, is it makes things VERY easy to drop out of the car for either the drags, pulling the clutch, etc. I had an H pipe up front, and the rear was braced together, so the whole "piece" would drop right out of the car

I am also wondering where and how will the mufflers fit underneath the car when it exits at the tire? I am thinking of using flowmaster 40's, (or something similiar) will those fit? or would I be forced to run a (enter your fav brand) [dynomax] "bullet" style muffler? and how do those sound? are they crazy loud?? I like that deep noticeable rumble...
It's a personal preference thang:munky2:I prefer my 4 inch system :bootysha:

That's pretty crazy, very interesting on how you got them big ole pipes over the axle???

I like it exiting in front of the rear tire. I say go for it!

I've always liked it too, I would like to see more setups, so if anyone has any, please post some pics and tell me what you have! thanks :)
