i had my 360 rebuilt with edelbrock intake got all my other problems solved with your help, start up run it and intake is leaking anti freeze right at front where intake sits down on motor just above the water pump, you can see it oozing from sealent where he put intake on motor, should that front part have gasket or just sealent and are they supposed to be torqued at a certain amount? thanks again and again

I always use silicone sealer. A big beed (sp) from head to head nice and thick. I always work from the inside out in a circle when tightening, just using a wrench and socket. Snug not cranked.

by silicone sealer do you mean permatex, i was going to try to fix myself tomorrow, should make builder do but need to get it to exhaust shop monday, i have sensor safe blue rtv silicone gasket maker, says blue but it is clear? thanks

If it's coming out from under the intake I would guess that the head/intake water jackets are not sealed properly. Be careful because your probably getting antifreeze in your oil too if it's leaking on the inside.
Edelbrock intake instructions say to only use the rtv without the gaskets on each end. As far as torque values I am not sure but, You do have a sequence where you start at the center of the intake and work your way out to each end.
IMO I would try torqueing it down again and see if that works. I believe Edelbrock instructions also say to retorque after it gets hot. If that doesn't work I'd pull it and make sure they did the job right. I always put a light coat of rtv around the water ports on the intake gasket too.

Did you have any head milling work done?

for sure not on intake, i dont know what he did on block, i went out and looked again, i had to use old nipple that was on another intake for bypass hose it looks like it might be coming from there, i should of cleaned it up better before using it, possible nipple not tight enough i get a little afraid of over tightening on alum, no anti freeze in oil so that is good sign right? thanks

Yeah, after seeing your post and my reply I went and looked at my setup and noticed the nipple sitting right over the center of the timing cover and wondered if maybe yours might be leaking since you said that it was in the center of the intake. If it was the water jackets I would expect to see the coolant near the edges first.

When you install that nipple you should put some sort of sealer on it. They make a teflon sealer in a tube (kinda like pipe dope but consistency is a little different) that is available at Napa that works best. If you can't get it regular old teflon tape works too. Putting sealer or teflon tape on it also acts like a lubricant that will allow you to tighten it better without stripping it. Also makes it easier to take out if need be.
