I would agree, but like I said I measured one that came out at just over 58", drum to drum.
I also know that Wracks71 is running (or was) a converted 8.75" and only need an 11mm shim to clear the stock location springs with his 17x9, 275/40-17 and +24mm offset package. He shouldn't have been able to do that if the axle was only 57.5" wide.
