Update On My Mom

-
Hope your Mom is doing well, sending positive energy your way......

I do have some updates on my mom. She got to come home today. My mom has to go back for treatment every day. Then the first of May she goes back to the hospital for a week. They told her she was going to be in a lot of pain. The area would feel like a bad sunburn and could get blisters. There is alot about this that I don't understand and know about. I plan on going down there next weekend. I have the job of cutting her hair off. I am very nervous about doing this although I use to be a professional beautician. My step dad just sent me a video of her arm that I have got to go watch.

Your doing a great job with this from what I can see. It is strange that we are all mostly strangers on here but really a family in a sense. All I know is that your bravery is inspiring. My wife is going thru some stuff with a family member who got diagnosed with breast cancer and is going for an operation next week. I came downstairs for supper the other night and she was in tears. Its tough. We pray we can get thru it, people do,

Hang in there

Cancer is a terrible disease. I have had family and friends battle it. You, your Mom and your family are in my thoughts and in my prayers. I hope your Mom has a complete recovery.

Update on my mom. She came home from the hospital for about a week and had to go back in. Her potassium, magnesium, white blood cell count all low. She hasn't been eating because of the blisters in her mouth. Yesterday she did eat half of a McD's hamburger and a glazed doughnut. Her white blood cell count is 0.8 and is suppose to be 10. They put her in isolation for now. Me and Clay are going down Sunday to see her. She is trying to talk the doctor into letting her come home for Easter because she was scheduled to go back in on Wednesday. If not she will still be getting a hair cut in the hospital. She said she didn't care about what anyone said her hair was getting cut.

I have had a few people ask for an update on my mom so here we go. Me and my son, Clay, went to see her in the hospital on Easter Sunday. It was very upsetting to see her lay there. My son didn't hardly speak to and just smiled a lot. I took her a stuffed dog that makes a pillow. She loved it and said now she had something to cuddles every night. Her face was pale, her lips swollen with blisters, and her stomach was swelled. She was in a lot of pain and my sister had to go get after the nurse because they would bring her a pain shot. When we moved her to a chair so I could cut her hair she cried. I watched her comb her hair and chunks came out. I tried to positive and tell her my hair falls out every morning when I brush it too. I did manage to cut her hair into a short bob right below the ear. I hated it!!!! It was so hard to cut her hair. She hasn't been able to wash it and it was very dry. My step dad likes it though. It was very hard watching my mom lay there in pain and not being able to help. I enjoyed visiting her but the visit was short. She is in the cancer unti for now. Mom gets to come home today but has to go back in on Thursday at another hospital for treatment. Next we were off to visit my g-ma who is 90. I got to see my six nephews. What fun was that. I also received driving lessons from Clay on how to drive his truck!!! LOL!!!! I posted some pics of the day. Sorry no pics of my mom she wouldn't let me. But I totally understand.

My hart hurts for you Betty, I do understand, and my prayers will continue to be going out for you and your family. God bless you all.

keep strong ABB we are behind you and more prayers are on the way.

I have been waiting to post something on here about my mom until we got the final results back. She had her PET scan done the other day and she is cancer free. :blob: The medicine and chemo has taken a toil on her teeth and hair though. I sent her money down to get her hair done because I am unable to go see her right now.

They are still working on the blood clot in her lung though. She was going every week to get her blookc checked. Sometimes good and sometimes it is so low they are afraid that if she pricks herself she will bleed to death. Yesterday she went to have it checked and they to come back in 2 weeks.

Slow progress but I will take it anyday over what she was going through.

Thanks for all your thoughts and prayers.
