A-Bodies...Big Motors / New Hemi Duster - FINAL ASSEMBLY

never had anything sporty enough to justify aluminium rods......race or street

anything to keep weight down...recipricating or dead....is OK in my book.....as long as its reliable and somewhat affordable.....seems like they would be a better fit for the shorter stroke-higher revin' smallblock boys

I always believed they couldn't handle the hot/cold cycles of the street, and would fatigue somewhat quickly at highway speeds.

I bought an aluminum rod'd, 11:1, solid lifter'd, 428 (with 455 crank and pistons - esentially .030 over 428 pistons are std bore 455) Pontiac motor that was built many years ago and never fired. I really bought it for the heads, but found a pretty nice short block was underneath them. I'm thinking about slipping it in for a summer or two. I got a hell of a deal on the whole package and just looking for some input about using the rods on the street. Nobody seems to have any actual street experience with them.

Just thought I'd ask.
