Took my RPM Magnum Eddy heads to the machine shop today. They looked them over, pulled the intake and exhaust valves, checked spring pressure, etc., and said that I really didn't need to do much to the heads as they looked good as they were. What gives? Is he right, do I not need to do anything? This is a speed shop in Dallas.

depends what you want out of them. My set looked great and would have done a great job in stock form - quality and finish in ports etc was good. i wanted a little more so I removed some of the pushrod pinch point material and blended and the buldge that is farther in the intake port that is for the head bolt and blended and opened up the ports to magnum gasket size and blended. Nothing radical - just some blending and smoothing some surfaces.
I'm sure I must have picked up a few cfm over stock for a few hours work.

I agree with the shop - the quality of the castings are good IMHO
