Internaly balanced 340 or externaly balanced 360?

Which would make the best street/strip engine in a "65" Valiant W/a 904?

I am leaning towards the internaly balanced 340 to make torque convertor selection easy. I don't want to change anything more than I have to. I want to use a beefed up cable shift V8 904 & an 8 3/4" rear W 4.10 gears.

Other than the drivetrain, subframe connecters, beefed up rear leaf springs/torsion bars & a manual disc brake conversion, the car is to remain as close to original as possible. Plus, the 340 will have "cool factor"

This will be "Granny's Violent 200", a sleeper. I want it to appear stock & turn very low 12s to high 11s.
