Yeah, I would have gone with braided hose if there was a place around here that carried it in stock and I had the extra money. The oil filter kit I got came with the rubber stuff so I just used it and I just cut down the heater hoses I already had on it. The fuel hose I will probably change some day and I found a metal filter to put on, but I need to track down a fitting first to hook it into the system.
I think I know what you mean by a flapper valve, but I haven't really done any adjustment on anything and it's a Carter AFB that has the weighted secondaries, so it's not that easy to adjust. The spark curve is the stock one that comes in the MSD box, and since I haven't done much to the engine I figured it would be fairly appropriate. I figured I'll try to track down a tuning shop and see what it would cost to get it dialed in.
