In 56 a Newport was just a name for hard top-not a model. Chrysler also used "St. Regist" as hard top. Chrysler had New Yorker/Saratoga/Windsor and some years a Royal. The names for Chryslers came from the big hotels as a thank you because they gave Walter the money to make Chrysler.
