what kind of oil for new rebuild

This is funny! EOS is a mandatory for me. Too many cams wiped out by alot of people. Not me or anyone Ive heard of who used it.
My guy who builds alot of engines said " get some cheap oil and a good filter for break in, dump it, then some quality stuff"
