May the 4th be with you.

'56 Chrysler, I am guessing Windsor. Is this a trick question, because it seems pretty easy?

no tricks. my daughter spotted it in W.V. and wanted to know. I googled plymouth and dodge which were bothe very close, but forgot about the chrysler line. I think you're spot on.

Maybe an expert will be able to tell by the trim if it's a New Yorker, Newport or ? The '56 Chryslers were very handsome. Also I read that the new Chrysler 300 copied the look of the '56's taillights. I hope Chrysler will build cars that beautiful again.

In 56 a Newport was just a name for hard top-not a model. Chrysler also used "St. Regist" as hard top. Chrysler had New Yorker/Saratoga/Windsor and some years a Royal. The names for Chryslers came from the big hotels as a thank you because they gave Walter the money to make Chrysler.

56 New Yorker-look at the chrome slash marks on the rear fin.

Thanks that's cool and interesting info. Now we can spot a New Yorker from the lower priced models.
