Wiring troubles ????

you are back feeding your parking lights or tailight circuit and instrument cluster through the brake light circuit. Check the all the rear bulbs for filiment short and your tailight harness in the trunk and work your way front. to the headlight switch. Your tail and instrument lights do not go through the column unless its auto on the column and that would be the orange wire that luminates the gear selector running up the column, unplug it at the bottom of the column if its not in the trunk. your brakes do not go through the headlight switch.I would say your going to find a bad bulb or socket pigtail in trunk or behind the bumper on some cars. good luck.
