Buffing/polishing products for low dust.
I finally bought myself an orbital buffer to give my elbows a break when polishing the car.
I bought Maguire's deep gloss polish 7 and buffed it out lightly and used a micro fiber towel to remove the haze, then used another clean microfiber towel to go over that for the final wipe down.
I drove it to a car show yesterday and it was overcast which realy made the hemi orange color pop and the shine was glossy/wet and looked great, BUT when i got home I noticed that when I ran my fingers over the paint, it was not the usual smooth feeling on the surface but more like a gritty feel and the entire car was covered in this which left a noticeable dark dust on my fingers.
In the past I used Mothers clay bar treatment with the detail spray which left a nice looking finish, not as glossy as it did when I buffed it yesterday but I never got the dust attraction like I did after using the Magure's.
I may go over the car with the quick detail spray that comes with the clay bar from Mothers, but I would be interested in hearing what others may have used as far as polishing waxes go to keep dust away from the paint.
I know Maguire's has silicone but I don't know if that is what causes the attraction or not unless the new microfiber towel created a static charge that attracted dust like a magnet....dunno.
