Bacon-wrapped
Start off with a high-quality 1/4-pound hot dog then take a full strip of really good smoked bacon and wrap the dog diagonally starting at one end and finish at the other. Use a toothpick on each end to secure the bacon to the dog.
Then grill the dog slowly so the bacon and dog both cook completely.
Best if served on your choice of roll with grilled peppers and onions and your choice of condiments or other toppings.

A 'heart attack' on a bun, but oh so worth it!
Oh yeah, you'll find these sold by street vendors in Los Angeles. I first ran into them at our Inland Mopars Car Club car show a few years ago and also at "Spring Fling" in Van Nuys.
