Started tearing into the /6
Since I've now dropped my v8 swap plan in favor of doing something more unique and dangerous with a /6 I started pulling it apart over the weekend.
I knew it burned some oil but what I didn't know is that it was burning oil in almost all 6 cylinders due to a leaky leaky head gasket. So everything inside the engine is nice and dirty. This is my first foray into engine rebuilding so I'm really not 100% on what to look for. I took a lot of pictures maybe some people can give some input on how it looks.
So far things don't look to nasty or worn, didn't have a knock or a tick when running. All the pushrods are straight and the cylinder walls look good.
I haven't gotten to the bottom end yet mostly because the engine is sitting on a tire but I'll get to that when I pick up a stand. I'll be leaving it for a while but I'm just trying to get a feel of what I'll be dealing with when I get back from jackson in a october-ish. Plan is to have my dad bring the block and head to the machine shop while I'm gone so I can get it done.
