Hey guys. Long time, no post! Anyway, I have lines on a cool 1971 Duster. Slant six, column 3spd, manual everything-my dream car. It is sitting in a backyard a few houses away from me, and has been there for a few years. I pass it every day going to work, and it is killing me to see it sit.

I know he will sell it becuase I bought two other cars off of him (parts Dusters) but never had the cash to offer up for the good Duster. It was a california car, but from sitting has surface rust underneath, needs a complete new fuel system (tank and all), has one locked up front drum, and the interior is one fiberglass racing seat and the dash. It does run, we started it on starting fluid with the fuel system unhooked. Of course the tires are dryrotted and such. Paint is peeling too. (Factory green on green, now black on green.)

The body is okay, but there is one large bubble where a patch was made on the passenger quarter panel. I cant get pictures because the owner is some what of an odd fellow.

So anybody have an opinion on what I should offer him? I plan to go afterit sometime in August when I have some cash from seeling my animals at the county fair. Thanks!

offer $750-$1500.

You'll have another $500-$1000 in it to get it running on the street with tires, brakes, and fuel system work.

Let him set the price. You never know how low his price might come out. If he says something that is too high, you can then counter offer. If he says something lower than what you were thinking, you just saved some money that can go towards its resurrection
