A mechanic I used told me the story of a Ford Explorer. A little used car place next to him sold the Explorer with 24" rims on it to a Hispanic family that spoke little English. They brought the SUB back stating it shook horribly over 45 mph. The dealer brought it to the mechanic and he checked out the front end, rear end and said it looked good. He took it for a drive and it shook worse than anything he ever drove. Got it back on the lift and went to remove the wheels to check the balance. He noticed 1 of the lug nuts was a stock type and the rest were made for the wheels...on each wheel. To shorten the story, the bolt pattern was for a F-150, which I guess is only slightly larger than the Explorer's. They swapped out a set of wheels of a Ranger the dealer had. The Explorer drove smoothly at 85 on the freeway.
The buyer came back, saw the wheels changed and an argument started. A friend of the buyer showed up and the argument got worse. Then local cops showed up. The dealer offered to give back some money because of the wheels, then offered to take the SUV back with a full refund. The buyer drove off with the 24's on the SUV...probably slowly.
Moral of the long story? A little bit off on the bolt pattern will make a difference. Guess if ya wanna look coll......

4.5 inches converts to 114.3mm...so if you're going from 5x115mm, it would convert to 5x4.53....not sure if that makes a difference, or a headache, sorry.
