904 torque converter dont fit..?

hey guys,
i am swapping my old blown slant six motor for a new one. when i tried to bolt the trans to the new motor the torque converter doesnt fit what's up with that? the torque converter doesnt' fit into the back of the crankshaft on the new motor. WTF?!
