1965 Dodge Dart Charger

Today I had a really nice conversation with a gentleman who worked at the St Louis plant from 1964 in the paint dept. Boy did I get some really interesting information.

The cars came body-in-white to paint dept meaning no paint or nothing at all. After the cleaning process the cars was getting red primer. After that and a trip through the cleaning bath the next layer came on. Some kind of green/gray primer. After that the final paint was added.

I will check tomorrow on my old front valence panel to see if the routines were the same for the LA plant.

Today arrived the small freeze plugs I have searched for for almost 4 years!! The bushing for the steering box and the pitman arm got here too. Will be a great day tomorrow.
