273 Waterpump/Radiator Swap....Help
Got the swap all done last weekend. Put an electric fan on it on Tuesday. Stays on the low side of the factory temp guage with a 180 thermostat. Pulled the pullies and alt brackets from a 78 dodge pick up, someone had already modified one of the crank pulley bolts so it bolted right on to the 273. All I really had to do was rebend the lower alt bracket the opposite way and put 1/8 shims(washers) between the brackets and waterpump and it lined right up. No space for a fan though....again, went electric pusher....that was a pain in it's self having to put it between the radiator and grille.
Anyways, everthing works great and drive it everyday to work...so far so good.
Only thing I have to do is make a bracket to run the power steering. Or go ahead and put the manual box on.
