The pictures of the trunk ,inside quarter panesl show the edge of the fabricated wheel lip which slides in between the inner wheel housing and quarter panel. The inner wheel housing is welded to this piece and must not be left out if you desire proper shape and strength in your quarter panel. Hope this helps a little.
