What Modification Do You Regret?

I was thinking the other day about some of the radical alterations we make to our cars in order to make them match the vision in our heads.

Back in the 70's I built a 340 and dropped in the Barracuda. Being somewhat stupid I built to the hilt. The static c/r was 12.5 to 1, forged pistons a solid crane cam with about 360 deg overlap..LOL (told u I was Gonzo) 4:56 gears, headers and a set of Road Runner horns?? It ran like crap till about 3800 rpm then it ran a little less crappy. Everything was mismatched. I never built again built like that. I have the sweetest running motor in it now, a 9 to 1 318 with a small cam and 4bbl. There is a 360 waiting to go in this winter. It will be a step up but basically the same layout. Moral of the story, don't let some magazine tell you what to build!
