The problem with going to a bigger cam is that the retainer to head clearance needs to be checked and maybe clearanced for more lift on a stock head. Valve to piston clearance should not be an issue. MoPar uses the Federal - Mogul 116 Hyper-U slugs. There very much like the KB flat tops w/valve reliefs. How much it'll take in lift is beyond me.
BUT, IMO,taking off the head to check for a high lift cam is an easy ting to do and nutz if you don't. Simply spinning the engine to see if anything hits (By hand) is not good enuff. It's a cost issue of head gaskets vs. (Should there be a problem) head work, new valves, etc........
