Port designs

No. That's the starting point, but you have a lot of other variables to fit in that. Not tham I'm an intake specialist but in addition to volume, length, and path...
The packaging, as in fitting under a hood, or scoop, or cowl; and the intended usage, as in fuel and intake (wet or dry) type, NA or not, rpm range. There is one perfect port for every engine but not in every car. If you look at most race only engines that need rpm ranges that are above 7K and built from the ground up then they seem to be round. Unless they can't get the volume they need in a round shape due to the engine's basic valve layout (not enough room for round equal length. Then they seem to be oval. Seems like below that most designs will be oval or rectangular because it's easiest to get equal lengths that run next to each other. Wet flow intakes will be much different than dry too. Intakes are a huge area of compromise in the typical factory type V8.

thanks for this big of info!

well it will be NA and wet for now... 6500 max rpm

i would like injected but not anytime soon...

will be making a custom sheetmetal intake to match...
