Born in the 50'es and the 70 was good to me.

Mike, you're 100% right about how music brings back so many memories. I think of a good friend that passed way too soon a few years ago whenever I hear "Spirit In The Sky" - that was the song that played at the end of his funeral. The first comment from those there was, "Turn it UP!". Brought a smile to everyone at a time of sadness.
I'm always amazed at what music can do with your memory. My wife and I commute to work together because we only work a couple of miles apart. We listen to an 'oldies' station in the morning and a country station on the way home in the afternoon.
A couple of mornings ago they played "The Sounds of Silence" by Simon and Garfunkel. Now I challenge anyone to just recite all the words to this song without the music playing in the background. But add the music and suddenly you remember every single word and can sing along even though you may not have heard this song in 20 years.
Oh, and great pick with Janis Joplin's "Me And Bobby McGee"! One of my all-time favorites.
