engine squeeling noise

Do you have a mechanic's stethoscope to use in searching for the source of the sound? If not, you can use a broomstick. Press the end of a broom against the engine block, etc., place the upper end of the broom against your ear, cup your hand over the broom and your ear to isolate out external sounds, move the bottom end around to search for the sound. You'd be surprised how effectively this primitive method works.
