how to get heater stuff from under dash

Remove the two 5/8 hoses on the engine side of the firewall that go to the heater core and the plate around the core connections, this should be one phillips head screw. Next on the inside open the right/passenger side fresh air door. You should see a rod going up into the top of the air intake. This rod can be unscrewed from under the air intake with a 5/16 nut driver. You can then unhook the rod from the inner cowl panel. Now find something to place under the heater box to offer temporary support. Next is to unscrew the 4 - 7/16`s nuts that hold the blower motor/heater box assembly to the engine side of the firewall. Remove the plate and gaskets from around the blower motor. From inside you should be able to ease the heater box away from the firewall. Once you have you`ll find 3 cables that operate the flow of air through the box. Mark the cable and it`s corresponding spot so you`ll know where each one goes back. These are held in place with clips and sometimes screwed on. Disconnect your electric connections and you`re there. Sometimes the ground wire will be attached behind the right kick panel, so be aware of that. The job is not too bad if you`re patient and methodical. The heater box case is made in two pieces held together with clips. A flat head screwdriver will pop them right off. Reverse the entire proceeder when it`s all ready to go back in. If I`ve missed anything ,somebody chime in. HTH.
